Exciting New Project

2 years ago I took an innocent girl's trip with my sis-in-laws and mother-in-law. We had always journeyed into quilt shops. I would look around and think "hmmm that's cute..." and walk away, no harm done. On this particular girl's trip I had made a basket and got the great idea that I wanted to sew a cute liner for it. I bought a couple of fat quarters...and a couple more....and a few more. I was addicted. Suddenly, I had caught the fabric bug. I couldn't go to a new place without asking where the local quilt shops were. I loved the precision of cutting, the process of piecing and the feeling of accomplishment as I completed a project. The problem I started encountering was having an abundance of unfinished projects because as many of you know....starting and finishing a quilt takes a lot of time. I needed to find something that I could finish in a couple of days and still have the amazing experience of quilting. I found a pattern in McCall's Quilting April 2009 that proclaimed that it was "the best bag pattern ever". I was compelled to make it. It turned out to be a huge bag and one that I love to this day. I recently found myself with extra time and a need for some therapeutic sewing. I decided that I wanted to find bag tutorials and make them. I have enjoyed reading other blogs, especially Mel's (my sis-in-law) who has been so patient with all of my new quilter questions, and wanted to share what I discovered with others. I hope you enjoy. My first bag.
